About Us

Husband and wife team Chuck and Lyndsey Springer have always had a passion for celebrating and preserving the past, so when they found the opportunity to steward The Wood Shack into the future, they jumped at the chance. Reclaimed Fort Wayne’s mission is to build on what The Wood Shack started over 45 years ago: to salvage the best of the past, and thoughtfully carry it forward in new and useful ways. Reclaimed Fort Wayne continues to salvage historic building materials from older homes and commercial properties, and has added reclaimed lumber and live edge pieces crafted from fallen trees and limbs, vintage and antique furniture and decor, custom steel table legs, bases and shelf brackets, and has carved out a curated retail space for like minded local makers and brands.

Chuck and Lyndsey both have full time day jobs in insurance, at Granville Insurance, founded by Lyndsey in 2017. Additionally, Chuck is an acclaimed artist, forging one of a kind artwork, as well as jewelry, from vintage cars (SpringHausStudio.com and Sharp Dressed Van, respectively). Between all their creative exploits and passions, the Springers know their way around any given scrapyard, a skill that lends itself seamlessly to spotting and curating reclaimed pieces for the shop. Chuck and Lyndsey grew up in Columbia City, Indiana then moved to Fort Wayne, landing in a 1920’s home in the ‘05 where they live with their three boys and three dogs. They absolutely love Fort Wayne, its rich history and bright future, and are grateful to be part of the ever growing shop small and local movement in the city.
